About The Artist Naava Naslavsky

Naava Naslavsky has the amazing combination of two very unconventional passions. In her "real life" she is a scientist, a cell biologist who is conducting research at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

In her studio at home (a former dining room) she creates these whimsical, humorous, and loveable sculptures. Her material is the paper that she has read or written on, she shreds it and uses it as raw material for her paper mache figures. After creating her sculptures she paints them and coats them with glaze to protect them and give them their shiny look.
