The Giant Panda is now back in the USA! Let us rejoice and say hello to Yun Chuan and Xin Bao. They are now residing in the San Diego Zoo as of summer 2024. It is now confirmed that Pandas are part of the Bear family. It has been raised to vulnerable status now from endangered due to China’s environmental control of the Bamboo Forests. Birth rates have grown including those in Zoos. An infant is 1/800 the size of the mother. In the news if you have heard that babies were smothered this is why it has happened. Mothers try hard to keep them safe with their wrists turned to protect them. Caretakers watch carefully for any trouble. 

Pandas are known for their Black Round Ears and Eye Patches, their Black legs and bottom feet that turn inward. The rest of their bodies are creamy white. His wrists turn like a thumb for eating and the caring of infants. They walk on their hind legs; they do somersaults and climb to get leaves and vines from the bamboo.
